| Location | If you are coming from Vernon, follow Highway 97A north to Armstrong. Proceed past traffic light at Armstrong, continue north towards Enderby. Proceed past the flashing traffic light at McLeod Road. Take the next turn to the right onto Mountainview Road. Continue approx. 1 mile up Mountainview to our shop. If you are coming from Enderby, drive south on Highway 97A until you cross the railway tracks then proceed approx. 1 mile. Turn LEFT onto Mountainview Road. The Meating Place is a custom meat cutting and sausage making shop located in the North Okanagan in the beautiful Spallumcheen valley.
We are a fully equipped, railed meat shop, specializing in custom sausage making with a large variety of our own fresh and smoked sausage recipes available for sale to the general public. As well we provide premium cuts of beef, pork, lamb, free range and certified organic chicken.
Our goal is to make and provide quality sausages and meats that everyone can enjoy. We use only lean cuts of meat to make our large variety of sausages. Specialty sausages which are gluten and dairy free are also available. All fresh sausages and meat cuts are frozen immediately upon processing, to retain freshness longer. These products are stored and sold frozen. We use cryovac packaging to give the best freezer protection while still allowing the consumer to see the product they are purchasing.
As much as possible we buy our meats from local farms. All meats used are government inspected. Our shop is Interior Health Inspected.
We DO NOT use MSG, colour enhancers or any kind of preservatives in our FRESH sausage making.
We DO NOT use MSG, colour enhancers, or shelf stabilizing preservatives in our smoked sausages. We DO use curing salt in our smoked products. Our smoked sausages are all gluten FREE.
