The Splatsin Tsm7aksaltn (Splatsin Teaching Centre) Society has been offering affordable, quality childcare to children of the Splatsin First Nation and Enderby since 1990. We are a non-profit society with a volunteer board who oversees centre operations. Since 1998 we have had over 660 children come through our doors and are the only licensed Group Child Care facility in Enderby. All of our staff are licensed, professional care givers. Our centre's mandate is that "children come first in all we do". Our programs are based on early childhood education development theories while being infused with the Splatsin language and culture. It is a very unique and innovative learning environment. 

Child Care Programs we offer are:

  • Fawn Program for 12 infants aged 6 months to 18 months
  • Bear Cub Program for 12 toddlers aged 19-36 months
  • Salmon Program for 25 children aged 3-6
  • Eagle Afterschool Program for 15 children aged 6-12
  • Aboriginal Infant Development for families with children aged 0-3 years
  • Splatsin Language and Culture Programs (Mon-Wed)
  • Aboriginal Supported Child Care Program for children with unique needs and family support

 

 Included with our daily child care programming such as:  

  1. Daily, weekly, monthly curriculum that is based on themes, early childhood education theory and early brain development
  2. Daily morning / afternoon snack
  3. Breakfast snack, hot lunch and afternoon snack (that is diabetic friendly and healthy)
  4. Outdoor play time 2 x a day
  5. Nap time, circle time
  6. Experiential learning tables
  7. Art
  8. Reading
  9. Nature walks
  10. Health and dental activities/promotion
