Rocky Mountain Alarms has been serving the Columbia-Shuswap regions for over 25 years. The company has been owned and operated in Salmon Arm by Vic Phillips since its inception. Vic started as a Computer Automated Systems Technologist, then went on to receive a degree in Robotics, became a Security Alarm Technician and has since received certification as a Fire Alarm Technologist, Fire Extinguisher Technician and in Fire Grounds Management.

Starting as a one-man operation offering sales, service and alarm monitoring for all types of alarm systems, the business soon expanded and in 2008 Vic created a sister company, Shuswap Fire & Safety Ltd. With the combination of these two companies we can provide a comprehensive security system that protects you and your premises from burglary and/or fire, as well as a system that covers a personal/medical emergency.

We also offer testing and inspection of Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Extinguishers, Kitchen Fire Suppression Systems, Fire Sprinkler Systems. We prepare and design Fire Safety and PrePlan Manuals as required by the BC Fire Code and National Building Code of Canada. A popular service provided by Shuswap Fire & Safety Ltd. has been the hands on training in the use of fire extinguishers.

 At the present time we have three employees working out of our Salmon Arm office as well as numerous others manning our phones at the Rocky Mountain Alarms Central Monitoring Station.
