Established in 1986, Project Literacy's volunteer tutors assist more than 500 adult learners per year to upgrade their essential skills in reading, writing, math and English as a Second Language in order to gain employment, enter trades programs and enroll in college or other post-secondary courses. Our services are free and available twelve months a year. Project Literacy is a registered charity. Funding is provided by the United Way, Rotary Clubs, BC Ministry of Housing and Social Development, CanWest Raise-a-Reader fund, community organizations, foundations and individual donations.
