What We Offer

Consulting and Coaching

Each person is unique and the point at which they seek help differs from one person to another. The sessions are designed to meet the specific needs of the individual as they move from stress to stress relief, and on to successful stress management and wellbeing.

Clients with chronic or acute stress are gently supported and guided in fundamentals of holistic stress relief and management. They learn practical skills, tools and techniques that provide lasting results and can be applied in the future. These may include methodologies from Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Cognitive Behavioural skills, Brain Gym, self-hypnosis or a variety of other tools or techniques appropriate to meet their particular needs to cope, enjoy life and be well.

Groups and Workshops

There are a variety of group sessions available.

The Art of Affirmations

An evening session on the art of creating positive affirmations to improve your state of mind and sense of wellbeing – and, yes, it is not a matter of simply reversing negative statements! Words need to be carefully selected to influence our inner chatter and how you feel.


Building Self-Esteem and Self-Confidence

A one day program on the inter-related topics of self-confidence and self-esteem – to feel good from the inside out.


Reduce Your Stress in 10 Minutes or Less

Learn a variety of tools and techniques that a quick, easy and effective to interrupt the stress response in a matter of minutes and feel fine fast.


Relax Deeply

Deep relaxation can provide a refreshing break from daily pressures and tensions and help us settle effortlessly into a sense of inner comfort and ease. Practiced regularly deep relaxation can improve overall health, sense of wellbeing, inner calm and vitality.

Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a deeply relaxing and comfortable experience. It can be used to desensitize traumatic memories, assist in pain management and relieve stress, anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, and mood swings. It is also a highly effective method for changing old negative beliefs and behaviours into more positive and life affirming ones. In addition it can assist in improving performance in such areas as public speaking and sports.

Hypnosis is a quick and effect method of making positive change through suggestion, metaphor and visualization/inner experience.

After discussing any specific issues, a client will sit comfortably and be guided to relax and reach a specific level of hypnotic trance during which they may follow a guided journey in their mind and receive some positive suggestions. After the session they may or may not remember what they experienced in hypnosis, but if a fire alarm rang during the session they would instantly be able to respond appropriately. And, no, they won’t ever “cluck like a chicken”.

Some clients are taught self-hypnosis as one of the many tools to manage stress.

Generally the sessions are short term – over a period of weeks rather than months.

The first appointment lasts 1 ½ hours and future appointments are 1 hour.

Retreats

An exciting development! Retreats are being planned for October in Kamloops and November in Vernon.

Stress Management Programs

Stress Management Programs include:

  • Stress Wisdom – the holistic approach to stress
    This program (of vearying lengths) has been taught to medical and complementary professionals, within companies, non-profit organizations and to the general public. Certificates are availabel for extra study hour credits.
  • Reducing Stress from Inside Out - a program for women
  • Stepping from Stress to Success  - for companies

In addition, programs on stress management are designed to meet specific needs. They can vary in length from lunch and learn sessions lasting 30-45 minutes, to 4-6 day programs spread over two months to assist staff with specific issues related to change and communication skills, to monthly two-hour sessions to support and assist staff experiencing growth and implementing new strategies.

Relax and Refresh

The ability to relax is essential for health and wellbeing. Deep relaxation can provide a refreshing break from daily pressures and tensions and help us settle effortlessly into a sense of inner comfort and ease. Practiced regularly, deep relaxation can help us to gain a sense of inner calm and cope more effectively with challenges and change.

This three week program will include:

  • Breath-work to break the stress response
  • Body Relaxation to increase physical comfort and ease
  • Visualization and imagination to increase inner calm and deep relaxation.

Participants will receive a copy of Easy Relaxation, Gillian’s relaxation CD, to assist them with continued home practice after the program.

Who will benefit: Anyone who wants to learn how to relax, to reduce anxiety and tension, to discover a powerful tool to help relieve and manage stress, or would simply like to join a small group to relax regularly for their personal sense of wellbeing
