Helikites are a hybrid kite/balloon.  Bird scarring is the primary application for Helikites in the Okanagan Valley.  A Helikite will fly silently 24/7. They fly with or without wind. Any wind action will cause them to hover and realistically mimic a bird of prey. This movement lessens birds habituating to them. Silently controlly several acres without disturbing neighbours or the environment. Helikites work in the early morning when propane cannons are illegal and annoying. Proven in the UK since 1992. Popular in the Okanagan since 2009.

Other applications for Helikites include aerial photography and banner publicity.
