Welcome to the District of Coldstream
One of the jewels of the North Okanagan is the District of Coldstream, nestled between the north end of Kalamalka Lake and stretching through the beautiful Coldstream Valley. Our community of 10,000 residents provides an attractive alternative to congested city living.
Kalamalka Lake has been called the lake of many colours because of its shimmering blue-green waters - a paradise for swimming, fishing and boating. Come relax and enjoy sun-drenched days at Kal Beach and at the other smaller beaches around the lake.
We offer extensive community parkland and trails, or try an adrenaline rush courtesy of our skateboard park. Coldstream is also known as the gateway to Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park, renowned for its unspoiled natural environment, clean beaches, along with hiking and biking trails.
There are three elementary schools and a high school in Coldstream, and the Kalamalka Campus of Okanagan College is perched on the hill overlooking the lake. Shopping is just a few minutes away in the neighbouring communities of Vernon and Lumby. Industrial development is limited to lumber mills and small manufacturing. With a backdrop of ranches, rolling hills, orchards and farmland, the District of Coldstream offers unspoiled charm.
As a resident or visitor, you’re sure to appreciate the lifestyle and ambiance of the Coldstream Valley.
