My involvement in the business planning process, either as an advisor or preparing the whole plan, results in:

All financial models prepared by me meet financial modelling best practices. Once created, they can be updated and used independently by my clients for many years as their business develops.

The forecasts incorporate graphs and clear outputs to ensure they are understood, meaningful and useful.

Strategy

Many businesses have operated the same way for years. Low management turnover limits the fresh new ideas that businesses need to achieve the biggest profits. Once-successful businesses slowly decay, failing to adopt to the changing marketplace.

A fresh look at your business strategy involves:

  • An objective inventory of your organisation's strengths and weaknesses
  • Identification of the opportunities available to your business and the threats it is facing
  • Mapping your internal strengths and weaknesses to the external opportunities and threats. This identifies the opportunities you are best placed to take, and the threats you should mitigate
  • An assessment of the likely impact to your profits of taking the suggested actions (so you know that you're not wasting your time!)

The scope of the strategy review can be limited, such as comparing your financial performance to those of your peers to identify some strengths and weaknesses. Alternatively, it can consider all aspects of your organisation.
